6th grade ART!
The following are some of the art projects during the 2011-2012 school year. Please take a look.
Students learned about Georgia O'Keeffe, an American contemporary artist. Students created watercolor paintings of flowers on a large and zoomed in scale, inspired by her artworks.
Students learned techniques for creating value with charcoal pencils. Students studied different types of bugs and insects and created charcoal drawings in a variety of sizes to form a complete composition.
Students studied the color wheel and learned about primary, secondary and tertiary colors. Students created original color wheels showing all colors on the color wheel.
Students learned about cross-hatching, a drawing technique. Students studied pictures of hand bones and drew bones using the techniques learned.
Students studied the artworks of Wassily Kandinsky. Students learned techniques for creating value in drawings and the differences in geometric and organic shapes. Students created original geometric drawings using a variety of lines, shapes, planes, and value.
Students learned about stippling, a drawing technique using dots. The students created value in their drawings using the stippling technique.
