This quarter we are exploring more art techniques and styles through creative projects.
In Prek, we are finishing up our Wild Thing puppets and stage inspired by the book, Where the Wild Things Are, by Marcus Sendak.
Kindergarten is making Flower collages using tissue paper.
1st grade is learning about Pointillism, a style of art using dots to create color, pattern and texture. We are reading the book, Art & Max, and our creating our own chameleons inspired by the book utilizing the pointillism technique.
2nd grade is learning how to create 3D shapes in drawing. They are created a 3D shape Color Wheel.
3rd grade is learning about Surrealism and is studying the art of Spanish artist, Joan Miro. Students are creating their own original artwork inspired by Miro, using shapes and lines.
4th grade is beginning learning and Ceramics and Weaving. They are created their own looms out of clay and will create a yarn weaving using their loom.
5th grade has been learning about 1-point perspective and is creating a personalized cityscape using 1-point perspective and other drawing techniques.
